The beautiful and protected bay of Cala Vedella on the West Coast of Ibiza has a couple of shops and restaurants all gathered around the nice sandy beach. Peaceful and family friendly, Cala Vedella offers safe bathing and watersports.

Cala Vedella is a beautiful little resort spread over a hillside on the West coast of Ibiza, quietly located. It’s very popular with families in the low and high season, due to the extremely sheltered nature of the bay, the wide sandy beach and shallow waters and the overall peacefulness of the resort. The big, wide beach of fine white sand slopes gently into shallow waters close to shore – good for fun and games with the children. Even at the height of summer there’s always a spot to be found on this wide beach. The crystal-clear water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The main road running through the village is extremely curvy as it winds its way up the hill – this means low traffic speeds and a safe environment for children.

Lining the beach is an excellent selection of restaurants and beach bars, most with great views of the bay. There can be a lively night-scene in some of the bars, and the sunsets are particularly beautiful. You’ll find a choice of water sports including pedalos, stand-up paddling, kayaks and a dive school and there are a few small supermarkets, boutiques and a cash machine in the resort. This sheltered bay is a popular anchoring spot for private yachts and motor boats, who often gather there to watch the romantic sundown. The beach has a length of approximately 280 meters and is broadly based between 50 and 80 meters.

Cala Vedella is a 25-minute drive from Ibiza Town and only 10 minutes from the lovely typical Ibicencan village of San Jose. There are good bus connections during the summer months and a shared taxi is also not too expensive.
